Can one Gridless unit power multiple cameras at a single site?

Capacity scales across the gS0 through gS4 configurations, so a single site with more than one camera — covering multiple approaches to an intersection, or traffic entering and exiting a shopping center, for example — can be matched to a configuration sized for the full camera load. Can Gridless power License Plate Recognition (LPR) cameras?
Yes. Gridless systems are compatible with LPR cameras, making them a fit for corridor monitoring, checkpoint deployments, and other LPR-specific use cases where running power and connectivity to the site isn’t practical. With Gridless, LPR cameras can also be easily paired with context cameras, so you see the full picture — not just the plate.
How is footage or data secured on a Gridless-powered system?
Gridless only provides the power and connectivity layer for your camera and LPR equipment — it doesn’t store footage, process plate reads, or set data-retention policy. Those functions live with your camera and VMS/LPR software, so your existing data governance and retention policies apply exactly as they would with a grid-powered installation.
Is Gridless compatible with grant-funded security projects?
Yes — Gridless equipment can typically be purchased as part of grant-funded projects. Because grant eligibility can be restricted to specific equipment types or locations, we recommend confirming with your funding source that it applies to your department’s intended project before purchasing.
